Why You Should Sweat the Small Stuff: Small Tweaks Benefit New Runners More Than Elites

I really love a good makeover montage: You know, where in 3 minutes, a person is transformed? But of course, I also know that that is not a thing that happens in the real world. The more I talk to pro athletes at the top of their field, the more I find that they aren’t making big sweeping changes in their training, they’re making tiny tweaks to become more efficient. And it turns out that research has shown making small tweaks to your routines and performance can actually lead to bigger results for new runners versus elites. (It’s all down to math, basically, but I really loved the concept, so I did what I do best and wrote all about it, plus how to take advantage of the fact!)

(PS: for some ideas on small tweaks, check out my series of Habits for Highly Effective Athletes)
