Talking Base Training for Endurance, Strength Training + Key Equipment on The Consummate Athlete Podcast
We’re at a training camp in California right now, so I currently have base training on the brain. And since it is January, I know I’m not the only one. For most of us, we’re at the start of the base phase in our training, so we decided it was the perfect time to do a Q&A episode with all of the common base questions we’ve been getting. So, we talk about what exactly base training means, and what exactly ‘endurance’ pace or training means. We dive into how to survive a training camp (as a pro or just one of your own design), and we touch on our New Year’s Resolutions and some advice on taking ‘little steps’ in training/life to make resolutions actually stick.
And lastly, we talk strength training, which I know a lot of people are doing right now since the weather sucks / because it’s the offseason. Peter and I are huge fans of body weight training (and we have a few great video routines!) but we also touch on the equipment that we would recommend if you want more of a ‘home gym.’ It’s a fun one, so don’t miss out!
