Outdoor Edit // On the Road (Again)

Midwest tour has begun! Drove down to Cleveland yesterday to do a talk, now I’m in Cincinnati for Pan-Ams, then Peter and I are testing out our now-renovated Ford Transit Connect by camping for the week (the weather is looking gorgeous!) between there and Louisville. Then, we’re hanging out in Louisville for a race weekend, so if anyone has any amazing Louisville recommendations, I’m all ears! It’s one of my favorite spots—so stoked to get back to Quill for coffee, and my favorite taco place on earth!

Love this // I have to give props to our Buzzrack trailer-mount bike rack (pictured above) now that we’ve really gotten some serious miles on it. It’s not fancy, but it’s lasted us a year and a half of a lot of driving and use, and for $160, it’s a total bargain if you’re in the market for a rack but aren’t ready to commit to one of the pricier brands.

Try this // We’ve been swimming a lot more lately, and I’m finding it great as a mental break—60 minutes of silence—but also for lengthening out. Which sounds a little weird, but I swear it’s true. Even if it’s just for 20 minutes in a hotel pool, I do feel like my brain gets quiet and my muscles actually chill out, even though I’m still actually working pretty hard. If you’re looking for something new in the off-season, give it a try! (Also, good life skill to have.)

Read this // If you love Chipotle like I do (it is the ultimate in decent yet tasty on-the-road food), you probably spend a lot of time defending it these days. So, read up in this extremely detailed, extremely long article in the most recent edition of Fast Company (and now online), Chipotle Eats Itself. For some reason, I find it fascinating.

Before You Go // Just had a great talk in Cleveland, and nothing coming up until my BOOK LAUNCH in December—stay tuned for details on that. We just sent the final copy in yesterday, so I’m stoked. In the meantime, I’m on the road, and (as always) working remotely. So, I wrote up a few of my best tips! And speaking of remotely working, have you read about our insane plan for BC in August 2017?
