On Mountain Biking, Training, and Nutrition with World-freaking-Champion Kate Courtney on The Consummate Athlete Podcast
Kate Courtney joined us on The Consummate Athlete Podcast to talk about her World Championship win in the Mountain Bike XCO (cross country Olympic) discipline and what went into that huge performance, from how she trained to how she eats… And I had so much fun chatting with her. At 22 years old, the Red Bull athlete is already a huge star in mountain biking, but she’s also wicked freaking smart. Not only is she a recent Stanford grad (!), she’s also really specific about taking charge of her own nutrition and training needs, and knows herself super well. I’ve seen a ton of athletes make huge mistakes with their eating habits off the bike, but Kate is super thoughtful about what and how she eats, and we get into that a lot. It’s a great conversation, and one that will make you SO stoked to ride. That’s what comes off strongest about Kate: she’s not just crazy-good at cycling, she genuinely loves it.
(Huge favor: if you haven’t already, take 2 seconds and rate and review the podcast? It would mean a lot to us and it’s a huge help getting more rad guests like Kate on!)
PS: If you want to watch Kate and the world’s best mountain biking athletes, tune in to Red Bull TV to catch all the action!
