Julian Carr is rad. I was a little intimidated talking to the dude: pro skier turned clothing entrepreneur turned environmental advocate turned mountain runner turned racer director, but he’s also a super chill, fun dude despite the insane to-do list he balances. (I think his dog keeps him sane… and he gave me yet another reason Peter and I need one!)
We talk A TON about the ins and outs of mountain running—not ultra-running, mountain running. As in, running really really hard and fast up and down a mountain, usually in races in the 10K range. Huge discussion on tips for running uphill, then running back down, but also some off-the-mountain stuff about his strength and mobility routines and how he’s really put a huge focus on his recovery and nutrition in recent years. I loved chatting with him and I’m dying to check out his Cirque Series next summer if we can get out to the Utah/Colorado area!
