Running in the winter can really suck sometimes, and sap your motivation—but it can also be pretty darn fun, depending on how you look at it, if you have the right gear, and sometimes, if you have the right crew. I was on a treadmill streak in December when my friend convinced me to come out for a winter trail run… Two hours later, we were kinda sorta lost in the woods, trudging through hip deep snow, laughing like maniacs and having a total blast. Of course, snow every so often is fun, but when it’s just plain cold and slushy? You may need an extra dose of motivation to get out the door.
