I love new projects and new partnerships, so feel free to get in touch by emailing me at molly [at] theoutdooredit.com
Are you an outdoor adventure, athletic wear or athleisure brand? Have a cool new product geared at adventure junkies and hoping to bring it to the masses? I’m always looking for new partners to help create rad content about outdoor adventure with a stylish twist!
Looking for a freelance writer covering outdoor adventuring, athletic training, outside lifestyle, and active fashion? Hit me up! (You can see samples of my work throughout this site, and check out a list of places I’ve worked for on my About Me page.)
Hosting an event and need some help creating content? I can help create content for other media outlets, craft press releases, pitch stories, and create social media content for races, teams, festivals or other endurance sport events. For example, with the Trans-Sylvania Epic MTB Stage Race, my husband Peter and I attended and created articles on Bicycling magazine(Ride Rocks Like a Pro Mountain Biker, Tips for Surviving a Mountain Bike Stage Race, Coolest Bikes at the Trans-Sylvania Epic Stage Race), helped create photo and video content for the race’s social media channels during the race, and wrote daily blogs on the race for Canadian Cycling Magazine.
From TSEpic promoter Dave Pryor: “One of the best parts of running an event like the NoTubes Trans-Sylvania Epic is getting to work with, and for, people like Molly Hurford & Peter Glassford. Whenever we had an idea for a story or social media post, Molly ran with it–and often had already covered it keeping our presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram timely and fun. Peter was not only a class-act as a bike racer, but he gave us some helpful advice during it and has been a great advocate for it leading up to it and afterwards. They’ve also been a part of a number of my other cycling-endeavors, and whenever I see them show up I know the event is going to turn out fun for everybody there.”

I love hosting Ladies Nights, women’s rides, book talks about nutrition and training, and women’s clinics. We’ve held everything from wine and cheese open-chat nights at bike shops to more structured talks at brand HQs to 50-woman clinics for local clubs and teams. See the Event page for more details and a contact form.
