Fueling for Track, Donut Rides, Charity Rides + Hydration on The Consummate Athlete Podcast
This week’s episode of The Consummate Athlete Podcast really covered A LOT of different nutrition concepts: fueling for Track, donut rides, charity rides + hydration. It was… a lot. But really, really fun to chat about, especially talking through things like a race where your time can get dropped based on donut consumption and how to train for that while not just housing a ton of donuts. The other interesting one for me was the multi-day charity ride with huge mileage (which isn’t unlike a cycling training camp)—I’ve done a lot of similar rides and weeks! It’s always a struggle between not going too hard on food and ending up gaining weight (very hard to do) versus eating enough to be properly fueled (not so hard if you’re smart).
