A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

In the spirit of trying to eat healthy/live healthy for a week, I figured I would actually write down a “day in the life,” bit by bit. It’ll probably be boring, but enjoy!

6-9AM: roll out of bed and check email. Start working on Cyclocross Magazine, posting and scheduling columns and emailing out people about new features and interview requests. Do an hour of work for the publishing company.
(Do a shot of apple cider vinegar, take vitamins, and drink giant glass of iced green tea)

I did love this one...

9-9:30AM: take pictures outside for my new column, The Girl With The Cowbell Tattoo, attempt to pick out a good one

9:30-10AM: breakfast! 2 toaster waffles with Smart Balance and chopped up strawberries

10-11:45AM: work for the publishing company where I’m the Assistant Editor

11:45-1PM: give online webinar on social media for outplacement firm where I’m the Social Media Consultant

1-2PM: publishing company, work on newsletter

2-3PM: 30 min run, 30 min yoga

3-3:30PM: lunch (multi-grain wrap with hummus and veggies, cantaloupe)

3:30-5:30PM: publishing company and Cyclocross Magazine update on Belgian Racers

5:30-5:45PM: power nap…

5:45-6:30PM: more work, work, work, checking Twitters and foreign CX sites while doing publishing work
Coffee and applesauce snack pre-ride

6:30-7:30PM: ride on trainer, working on spinning at 80 RPM and doing some interval work

7:30PM: shower!

7:30-8PM: dinner (brown rice, tofu, kale, stir fry veggies, soy sauce with iced green tea and fruit)

8-9PM: keep working, get things set up for tomorrow AM with Cyclocross Magazine
Dessert: cup of grapes and handful of trail mix

9-10PM: mud mask and hair dying party!

10PM: read for a while, then bed.

Oh my lord. Not eating any processed food or refined sugar has been brutal today. I admit that when 5PM rolled around I was about to cry for lack of sugar and caffeine, though at least black coffee helped with that a bit. I know this is good for me, and I know it’s healthy, and I know I’m fighting toward a goal that will be so much better than any amount of junk food will ever taste, but it doesn’t feel great yet. Right now though, I just feel like I really want a bowl of ice cream and a Mountain Dew.
