The Case For Mindful Running

You guys know I love the concept of running mindfully (hence when we read Mindful Running for the Athletic Bookworms way back!) So, when MapMyRun was up for talking about making the case for running mindfully, versus just running for the sake of a personal best, to drop a few pounds, or because a friend forced us into it or a doctor suggested it, I was STOKED. I love running sans headphones — on occasion — and just letting my mind wander wherever it wants to go while I’m out on the trail. Peter and I argue all the time about my sticking to the few routes in town that I know like the back of my hand, but to be honest, a huge part of that is because when I’m out on those trails, I know exactly where I am and what I’m doing, and I can just let my mind go.
