Donate to Cycle For Sight, Get a Copy of Saddle, Sore!
So the Cycle for Sight Ride in Toronto is a cause that’s really near and dear to my heart, so when our friend asked if Peter and I would be up for participating, I was psyched. I rarely people to fundraise (it’s my least favorite thing to do, honestly!) but in this case, it’s worth it to me—so much so that I’m throwing in some perks for those who make donations.
If you can donate, awesome. If I didn’t care about the Foundation Fighting Blindness, I wouldn’t ask, but it’s important to me. And yes, I know for most of you reading this, you’re thinking that it’s a Canadian organization and focused on Canadians, not Americans, but a) Canadians are awesome (not just because I’m dating one) and b) it’s a research foundation, so any strides they make in fighting blindness will be felt worldwide.
So, the spiel:
I’m participating in Cycle for Sight 2015 – a fundraiser in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness – because I believe in hope and I believe that there will be a cure for retinal eye diseases in my lifetime. The Foundation Fighting Blindness is Canada’s leading charity funding vision research and together with you, we can create a future without blindness. Did you know that over one million Canadians – from children to seniors – are currently going blind and that number is expected to double in the next 25 years? Your donation could change this. Each research discovery, in Foundation Fighting Blindness funded laboratories, reveals another piece of the puzzle – another glimmer of hope.
I know everyone is constantly asked to sponsor stuff, so I hate asking for money, even for causes I really believe in. So, I wanted to come up with a gift to give back to you!
I’ll send you an email once you donate to get details of where to email or send the book. Please sponsor my ride and help fund sight-saving research so people don’t have to fear living in the darkness. You will truly be giving hope to people living with blindness – helping to save and restore the gift of sight. I sincerely thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to my ride and the Foundation!
