5 Tips on Optimizing Natural Sunscreen for Runners

This post for MapMyRun was super fun to research because to be honest, it’s something I haven’t thought a ton about, but really really should given my family’s propensity towards skin cancer, the amount of time I spend outside, the breakouts I get from a lot of chemical-based sunscreens, and my general distaste for putting a ton of chemicals on my skin. So you’d thing I would have already been pretty versed in natural sun protection—using physical blockers like zinc versus the chemical sprays. Since doing this article, I admit I haven’t been perfect by any stretch, but I have switched my sunscreen for my face to all physical blocks (bonus: the two I like—one more natural, one from Clinique—are tinted so they’re a sunscreen and a bit of a foundation for a non-makeup wearer.)
